A bomb in the Annadale Embankment area in Belfast failed to detonate last Monday night. Therefore the police, who responded to a 999 call, were unharmed. The police received a phone call of a person telling the police that a woman was being attacked. Instead of an harmed woman they found a bomb. Fortunately, the bomb which was attached to the gate that the police had entered, did not go off. The attack has been blamed on dissident republicans who are recalcitrant following the death of PC Ronan Kerr earlier this month.
I think that it is ridiculous that there are still riots against the government and the police in Ireland. The religious war has to stop at a certain point. I cannot imagine what it feels like to live in that country and constantly keeping my eyes on everybody. The police are there for their protection and it is of no use to bomb the police. The fact that this is still an issue, not only in Belfast but also other countries and cities, makes me wonder. How far does the world want to go? Why is it, that we people cannot accept each other and live a harmonious life? Do people have to die first to achieve that? I think that we can live together without bombing each other.
